ARROZ CON GANDULES 
3 cups rice (washed and drained)
1 can gandules
1 cup meat (ham, chorizo, sausage, pork, etc.)
1/3 cup homemade sofrito
1/2 cup halved green olives
salt, pepper, adobo and cumin, to taste
5 cups stock or beer
1/2 can tomato sauce

In a pot, add a little olive oil and heat up sofrito. Add olives, seasonings and tomato sauce and mix well. Add gandules and mix well. Add meat and mix well. Add rice and stock and stir. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat and let cook for about 40 minutes.
