CHICKEN/PORK ADOBO 
2 lbs. chicken cut into pieces
1/2 c. vinegar
1/2 c. water
1/4 c. soy sauce
3 cloves garlic, crushed
1/2 tsp. ground pepper
1 tbsp. sugar

Combine the first 6 ingredients in a pot or deep pan. Cover and cook in medium heat. When the chicken is tender add 1 tablespoon of sugar and cook for another 5 minutes making sure that the sauce doesn't dry up. Serve with rice.

Note: When using pork instead of chicken, use 1 1/2 cups of water instead of 1/2 cup and add salt to taste.
