FIVE ALARM CHILI 
5 strips bacon
1 c. chopped onions
4 cloves minced garlic
1 can tomatoes (1 lb. 12 oz. size)
1/2 c. water
3 tbsp. chili powder
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
1 tsp. (or more) cayenne pepper
1 lb. can kidney beans
2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt

Dice bacon and fry until crisp. Remove bacon and set aside. Cook onions and garlic in bacon fat until soft. Add beef and brown. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer 45 minutes; add bacon as topping when served. Serves 6 to 8.
