SCOTTISH SHORTBREAD | |
1 c. sugar 1/2 lb. butter (2 sticks) 1/2 lb. butter (2 sticks) 4 c. flour, presifted Additional sugar 1/2 tsp. vanilla In large bowl cream 1 cup sugar, butter, butter. Blend in flour, one cup at a time. Add vanilla. Put into ungreased jelly roll pan. Prick with fork all over entire surface. Bake at 250 degrees for 20 minutes. Increase to 350 degrees. Bake 10 minutes more or until lightly brownish. Cut into squares while still hot. Cool in pan after cutting. I use a broiler, 11 1/2 x 16 inch pan. |
