BUTTERMILK CHEESE BREAD 
1 c. flour
1/2 c. whole wheat flour
1 tbsp. granulated sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. + 2 tsp. low calorie butter
3 oz. shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 c. skim buttermilk
1 lg. egg

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a bread loaf pan with non-stick spray. Set aside.

Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. With a pastry blender, cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in all but 1/4 cup of the cheese. In a small bowl, combine the buttermilk, egg, and 2 tablespoons water. Add liquid ingredients to the dry, mixing just until blended. Pour into prepared pan; sprinkle top with remaining cheese. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes. (This is a low calorie recipe.)
