GINGER BREAD 
1 3/4 c. sugar
1 c. butter
3/4 c. syrup
1 c. boiling water
3 c. flour
2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. baking powder
2 eggs, beaten

Cream sugar and butter; add syrup, then add boiling water with soda in it. Add flour, spices and add eggs last. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.
