MILDRED'S ASPARAGUS CASSEROLE 
Cook asparagus in salted water, until almost done, about 10 minutes (1" pieces, tips added later.)

Put asparagus, 3 or 4 hard boiled eggs, white sauce in layers in casserole. Put grated American cheese over this and cracker crumbs on top. Bake 1/2 hour, until bubbly and brown. (Peas can be used instead of asparagus.)

WHITE SAUCE:

2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. flour
Salt
Milk
