FROSTED CARAMEL COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. white sugar

2 eggs, well beaten
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder

Spread about 1/2 inch thick in greased pan. Sprinkle with 3/4 cup chopped walnuts or raisins or both. Beat white of 1 egg and fold into it 1 cup light brown sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Spread over cookies. Bake in a moderate oven at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until done.
