WHEAT AND LENTILS 
1 c. cracked wheat (number 3 if possible)
2 c. lentils
2 sm. onions or 1 lg. onion
1/2 c. olive oil
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. pepper

Rinse lentils. Put 9 cups of water in pot; add lentils and simmer for 20 minutes (do not cover). Add wheat and cook for another 15 minutes. Also add 1 teaspoon of salt and approximately 2 teaspoons of black pepper. Stir; add more water if necessary.

Dice onions but not too fine and cook (fry) in olive oil. Add to wheat and lentils after they have cooked. Serves 6.
