LEMON BREAD 
1/2 c. Crisco
1 c. sugar
grated rind of 1 lemon
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
2 eggs
1/2 c. milk
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder

Cream shortening and sugar. Add lemon rind, eggs and milk. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Place in well-greased pan.

Bake at 350°F for 50 to 60 minutes. Smaller pans, 20 to 25 minutes.
