EASY DATE PUDDING 
3/4 c. white sugar
1 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. milk
2/3 c. chopped dates
2/3 c. chopped black walnuts
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. hot water
1 tbsp. butter

Mix dry ingredients (white sugar, flour, and baking powder). Add dates and nuts. Add milk and stir well. Spread mixture in 8 x 12 inch pan and pour over the top the mixture of hot water, brown sugar, and butter. When pouring hot mixture over the batter, shield batter with back of spoon to avoid a hole in the batter. Bake at 350 degrees or 40-45 minutes.
