WINE COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
4 c. sifted flour
1/4 c. sherry or wine

Cream butter with sugar, add egg, beat until light and fluffy. Blend in salt, baking powder, sherry and 2 cups flour. Add remaining flour, mix well. Chill 1 hour. Take small amount of dough and roll into rope to form doughnut shapes and dip into sugar on top of cookie only. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Makes 4 dozen.
