PIONEER GINGERBREAD 
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
1 c. honey
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 c. boiling water

Cream together sugar and shortening. Beat in egg and honey. Sift together flour, soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger and cloves. Add to honey mixture alternately with boiling water. Bake for 20 minutes in 375 degree oven. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake 10 minutes more.
