BOSTON BROWN BREAD | |
3 (1 lb.) coffee cans, buttered 2 c. boiling water 1/2 lb. raisins 2 tsp. baking soda 2 tbsp. butter 1 3/4 c. sugar 2 eggs 4 c. flour 1 tsp. salt 2 tsp. vanilla 1 c. chopped walnuts Soak raisins and baking soda in boiling water for 1/2 hour. Cream butter, sugar and eggs. Add flour, salt and vanilla. Mix by hand. Put raisin mixture in. Put nuts in last. Fill cans halfway. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. |
