SPICED NUTS 
2 tbsp. cold water
1 slightly beaten egg white
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. cloves
1/8 tsp. allspice
1 c. walnut halves
1 c. pecan halves

Add water to egg white. Dissolve sugar in egg white mixture. Add salt and spices; mix well. Dip nuts in mixture. Place nuts, flat side down, on greased cookie sheet (use butter to grease). Bake in slow oven, 250 degrees, until golden brown, about 45 minutes to 1 hour. NOTE: If there is any mixture left, pour over nuts for heavier coating. Remove nuts immediately from cookie sheet after baking. Cool and store in tight container.
