CHEESE BREAD | |
1 pkg. active dry yeast 1/4 c. warm water 1 1/4 c. scalded milk 1 3/4 tsp. salt 5 tbsp. sugar 4 1/2 c. flour 4 tbsp. melted butter 5 oz. shredded cheese (cheddar or american) 2 beaten eggs Dissolve yeast in warm water. Into a large mixing bowl, pour scalded milk, sugar, and salt. Add butter and beaten eggs. When mixture is lukewarm, add yeast - water mixture. Add and beat in flour. Cover and let mixture rise in a warm place until doubled. Stir down the batter and stir in the shredded cheese. Divide batter between two well greased bread pots. Let rise until doubled or just to the top of the bread pot. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes. |
