CLAM CHOWDER 
1 onion
4 stalks celery
2-3 carrots
2-3 diced potatoes
1/2 lb. bacon
2-3 cloves of garlic
1 can cream style corn
1-2 qt. milk
1 pt. whipping cream
1/4 - 1/2 lb. clams (fresh or canned)
Pinch of basil, salt, pepper, sage and marjoram

Fry bacon, then use some grease to stir - fry the vegetables with garlic and onions. Add everything together, including milk and cream to make the chowder. Add clams after the milk.
