1/2 c. shortening
1/4 c. evaporated milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/8 tsp. butter extract
1 lb. powdered sugar, sifted

Mix together by hand and beat with mixer only until smooth. Should be a little stiff.

For frosting, double recipe and then 1/2 of it to spreading consistency.
