CHRISTMAS COOKIES 
3/4 stick butter
1 c. brown sugar
3 eggs
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. allspice
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 1 1/2 tbsp. sweet milk
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour, sifted (reserve 1/2 c. for mixing with fruit)
1/3 c. whiskey
1/2 lb. white raisins
1 lb. chopped dates
4 slices candied pineapple
1/2 lb. candied fruit peel mix
1 lb. candied cherries
1 qt. chopped pecans

If you do not like one of the fruits substitute nuts. Cream butter and brown sugar. Add eggs, cinnamon, cloves, and allspice. Add soda and milk. Add flour alternately with whiskey. Add fruit dredge in flour and pecans. Spoon out on cookie sheet covered with foil. Bake at 325 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes or until brown.
