CHOW - CHOW 
4 med. heads cabbage, chopped
10 green (partially ripe) tomatoes, chopped
6 bell peppers, seeded and chopped
3 level tbsp. salt
2 c. water
4 tbsp. pickling spices (tied in cheesecloth; remove spice before putting into jars)
10 cucumbers, peeled and chopped
5 med. onions, peeled and chopped
4 1/2 c. sugar
2 qts. white vinegar

Put in large pan and cook for about one hour, stirring occasionally. Put into sterilized jars and seal while hot.
