Chicago hot dogs NEVER have ketchup on them. Save it for your fries!

Here's a Chicago dog recipe...

Put an all beef frank inside a hotdog bun (use a poppy seed one if you have them). Top with yellow mustard, sweet green relish, a dill pickle spear, chopped tomatoes, diced onions, a couple of hot serrano peppers, then sprinkle with celery salt. There's a slogan in Chicago that says: "Never put ketchup on a hotdog."

Can anyone tell me how to make the bright green hot dog relish, is that done with food coloring?

I have heard of a Chicago Dog and always wanted to try.

Mike Ford of Utah has the exact way it should be put together. I just could NOT remember all the exact ingredients (but had heard them). DW Texas... Mt Olive brand has a "sweet pickle relish"... that will probably fit the bill. Am going to make today. Thanks Mike for putting the real spin on this...
