1 tsp. vanilla
3 tbsp. butter
1 c. sugar

Cream and add 1 egg. 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 3 c. chopped and peeled apples 1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Cream first 3 ingredients and add the egg. Mix dry ingredients and add to above. Stir in apples and nuts. Bake 45 minutes at 350 degrees. Use an 8 inch square pan.
