CHOCOLATE MARSHMALLOW COOKIES 
1 3/4 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped nuts
2 dozen marshmallows

Sift together flour, soda, salt and cocoa. Cream shortening with sugar until fluffy. Beat in egg. Add flour alternately with milk. Beat well. Add vanilla and nuts. Drop by teaspoons on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 minutes. Take out of oven and top each cookie with half of marshmallow, pressing gently. Bake 4 minutes more. Frost with chocolate frosting, allowing a little of the marshmallow to show.

COCOA FROSTING:

2 1/2 c. sifted powdered sugar
1/4 c. cocoa
1/8 c. melted butter

Add enough hot water to make a smooth frosting or use your favorite chocolate frosting.
