OLD FASHIONED BREAD PUDDING 
3 c. soft bread crumbs, 4 c. for a more firm pudding
2 c. milk, scalded with 1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon or nutmeg
1/2 c. seedless raisins

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Place bread crumbs in 1 1/2 quart baking dish. Blend in remaining ingredients. Place in baking dish in pan of hot water (1") deep. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until silver knife inserted 1" from edge comes out clean. Serve warm with cream. Serves 6 to 8.
