GRANDMA'S OLD-FASHIONED POUND
CAKE
 
4 c. pastry flour
2 c. sugar
10 eggs, separated
1 lb. butter
2 tsp. baking powder
3 tsp. vanilla

Stir butter and sugar gradually and continue beating while adding egg yolks. Beat until stiff. Add lemon coloring, then add egg whites that have already been beaten. Next, add flour and baking powder. Beat 5 minutes. Bake in a deep pan 1 1/4 hours in a slow oven.
