LAZY DAISY OATMEAL CAKE 
1 c. oatmeal
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. sifted all purpose flour
1 1/4 c. boiling water
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg

CAKE: Pour water over oats, cover and let stand 20 minutes. Beat butter until creamy, gradually add sugars, beating until fluffy. Blend in vanilla and eggs. Add oats mixture; mix well. Sift together flour, soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add to creamed mixture, mixing well. Pour batter into well greased and floured oblong pan. Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes. Do not remove cake from pan.

FROSTING:

1/4 c. butter, melted
1/2 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. shredded coconut
3 tsp. milk
1/2 c. nuts

Topping could be more generous.

For Frosting, combine all ingredients. Spread evenly over the cake. Broil until frosting becomes bubbly. Serve warm or cold. Watch very carefully.
