FLANK STEAK MARINATE 
2/3 c. catsup
1/2 c. water
1/3 c. lemon juice or vinegar
1 tbsp. celery seed
2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 bay leaf
1/2 tbsp. coarse ground pepper
1/4 tbsp. basil (optional)
Dash of Tabasco

Simmer all ingredients 15 minutes. Cover meat and store overnight. Meat can be frozen in marinate at this point. When ready to cook take out and drain. Let warm up to room temperature before broiling or grilling. For rare meat cook 7 minutes one side and 5 minutes on other side. Slice flank steak on angle or bias.
