BUTTERSCOTCH BARS 
3/4 c. butter
3 c. brown sugar
3 eggs
2 1/4 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. nuts, optional
1 c. chocolate chips, optional or raisins or coconut

Melt butter. Add to brown sugar in large bowl; mix well. Add eggs and beat well. Sift dry ingredients into sugar mixture. Mix thoroughly. Stir in vanilla, nuts and or other extras. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Use large (11 1/2 x 16 1/2 inch) pan or two 9 x 13 inch pans.
