GREEN BEANS CHINESE - STYLE 
2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. all-purpose flour
2 c. milk
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen French style green beans
1 c. sliced water chestnuts
1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 (14 oz.) can bean sprouts, drained
1 med. onion, chopped
2 c. med. cream sauce
1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
1 (3 oz.) can French fried onions, crumbled

Grease a 2 quart casserole dish. In a saucepan melt the butter. Stir in the flour until smooth. Add the milk gradually, stirring constantly. Cook, stirring, until thickened. Add salt and pepper.

In the prepared dish layer half of the beans, half of the water chestnuts, half of the mushrooms, half of the beans sprouts, half of the onions, half of the cream sauce and half of the cheese. Repeat the layers. Bake in a 400 degree oven for 30 minutes. Top with fried onions and bake for 10 minutes. Serves 6.
