BABI KETJAB 
1 1/2 lb. pork steaks, cubed
1 lg. onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 c. soy sauce
1/2 c. water
2 tbsp. cooking oil
2 scallions, chopped
1 tsp. ground ginger
1 tbsp. brown sugar

Fry the meat in very hot oil until lightly brown. Add onion, scallion, garlic, and ginger. Reduce heat and saute for 5 minutes. Add soy sauce, sugar, and water. Simmer for 40 minutes. Pour over rice or noodles and serve.

You can substitute chicken for pork. Simmer a bit less or just until chicken is tender.
