4 slices of bread
1 c. brown sugar
3 eggs
2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Put brown sugar in double boiler. Butter and cube bread, put in pan on top of sugar. Beat eggs, milk and vanilla and pour over top of bread. DO NOT STIR. Cook 1 hour in double boiler. Serve warm as brown sugar makes syrup for topping.
