SNICKERDOODLES 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/4 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3 3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 c. coconut
1/2 c. walnuts, chopped
3/4 c. raisins
1/2 c. white sugar to coating

Cream butter, shortening, and sugar. Add eggs, milk, and vanilla and mix well. Sift together flour, soda, cream of tartar, and salt. Add to cream mixture. Mix well. Add coconut, nuts and raisins. Drop by teaspoons into white sugar to coat. Place on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 325 degrees for 16 minutes or lightly browned.
