TEXAS CHOCOLATE CAKE 
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 stick butter
1/2 c. Crisco
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. water
5 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Sift flour and sugar together in large bowl. Bring butter, Crisco, salt, water, and cocoa to a boil in saucepan. Blend with flour and sugar; add buttermilk, soda, eggs, and vanilla. Mix well and pour into greased 16 x 11 x 1 inch pan (jelly roll pan). Bake 20 minutes at 400 degrees.
