FOOD FOR THE GODS 
1 lb. dates, cut fine
1 lb. pecans, cut fine
1 c. powdered sugar
4 eggs
11 tbsp. baking soda cracker crumbs
1 tsp. baking powder

Mix egg yolks with sugar; beat well. Add nuts and dates. Add cracker crumbs and baking powder. Fold stiffly beaten egg whites in. Spread 1/2" thick on a baking sheet lined with wax paper. Bake at 325 degrees for 18 to 20 minutes until golden brown.

ICING: Ice with powdered sugar, butter and a small amount of canned milk. Decorate with pecan halves. Cut into small squares.
