GOLDEN RICH CAKE 
2 c. wheat flour
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. sugar
3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour oblong pan. Blend all ingredients on high speed 3 minutes. Pour in pan. Bake 40 to 45 minutes. Cool. Frost.

PENUCHE FROSTING:

1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. milk
2 c. powdered sugar

Heat butter until melted. Stir in brown sugar. Heat until boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 2 minutes. Stir in milk. Heat to boiling, cool to lukewarm. Stir in powdered sugar gradually. Place saucepan in bowl of ice and water, beat until spreading consistency. If stiff, reheat.
