BAKED APPLES WITH SOUTHERN PECAN
SAUCE
 
1/2 c. butter
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp. rum extract
Dash of salt
1/2 c. pecans, chopped
8 med. apples
Ground cinnamon

To make sauce, melt 1/4 cup butter in small saucepan; stir in sweetened condensed milk, extract, salt and nuts. Cook 10 to 12 minutes over medium heat, stirring constantly. Cool. Sauce will thicken as it cools. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Core apples; place in shallow baking dish. Spoon melted butter into centers and sprinkle lightly with cinnamon. Bake 45 to 50 minutes or until tender. Serve with pecan sauce. Refrigerate leftovers.
