TAFFY 
1 c. molasses
2 tsp. vinegar
1/8 tsp. salt
3/4 c. sugar
1 tbsp. butter
1/8 tsp. baking soda

Boil molasses, sugar and vinegar to hard ball stage, 265 to 270 degrees. Remove from stove, add butter, baking soda and salt. Stir only to blend. Pour into well buttered pan. When cool, pull until light colored and porous.
