DELUXE FROZEN CHOCOLATE PIE | |
1 sheet Pillsbury All Ready Pie Crusts 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese cheese, softened 1 c. sifted powdered sugar 1/2 c. peanut butter 1/2 c. chocolate syrup 2 c. frozen whipped topping, thawed 2 ripe bananas, pureed 1/4 c. chopped dry roasted peanuts Prepare pie crust sheet according to package directions for an unfilled one-crust pie using a 9-inch glass pie plate. Fold under edge of crust along pie plate edge. Cut edge at 1/4-inch intervals. Gently press alternate pieces of crust forward. Microwave at HIGH for 5-7 minutes giving pie plate a one-half turn during cooking time. Crust is done when it appears dry and flaky and golden brown spots begin to form. Cool before filling. Beat cream cheese at medium speed of an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add sugar and peanut butter, beating until smooth. Gradually add chocolate syrup; beat until well blended. Fold in whipped topping and banana. Spoon filling evenly into pastry shell. Sprinkle with nuts and freeze at least 8 hours. Let stand at room temperature 15 minutes before slicing with a set knife. Yield: one (9 inch) pie. CONVENTIONAL INSTRUCTIONS: Prepare pie crust as directed above. Bake at 450 degrees for 9-11 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool. Continue as directed above. |
