ORANGE DROP COOKIES 
2/3 c. shortening
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. orange juice
2 tbsp. grated orange peel
2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. double acting baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

FROSTING:

2 1/2 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 tbsp. orange juice
2 tbsp. grated orange peel
1 1/2 c. confectioners' sugar

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease 2 cookie sheets; set aside. In large bowl with mixer at medium speed, cream shortening, sugar and egg; continue beating until light and fluffy. Add orange juice and peel. Combine flour, baking powder, soda and salt; add to mixture and continue mixing until just blended. Drop by rounded teaspoon onto cookie sheet, 2" apart. Bake 10 to 12 minutes. Cool on rack and then frost. Makes about 3 dozen.

FROSTING: In small bowl, mix frosting ingredients until spreading consistency.
