CHOPPED APPLE CAKE 
2 c. apples, chopped
1 c. walnuts, chopped
1 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
3 tbsp. butter, melted

Mix together chopped apples and walnuts. Add sifted dry ingredients. Combine beaten egg, vanilla, and melted butter and pour over dry ingredients. Mix thoroughly. Batter will be stiff. Spread in a buttered 8x8-inch pan. Bake at 350°F for 45-50 minutes. Serve with whipped cream.
