CHOCOLATE CUPCAKES 
1 egg
1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. sour milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. hot water

Put all ingredients into mixing bowl. Beat well. Pour into cupcake pans or use cupcake liners in your muffin tins (this works better). Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Cool and frost if desired. I like to use caramel icing on these cupcakes - recipe follows.
