BREAKFAST CASSEROLE | |
12 slices white sandwich bread (crusts on), buttered 1 lb. cooked sausage, ham or bacon 1 lb. shredded cheddar cheese 6 eggs 1 tsp. salt 4 1/2 c. milk (skim is o.k.) Layer in 9 x 13 inch pan: 6 slices bread, buttered side down. Sprinkle meat in small pieces over bread. Sprinkle cheese over meat. Top with 6 slices bread, buttered side up. Beat eggs, salt and milk. Pour over all. Cover with foil. Refrigerate overnight. Remove foil and place under pan to catch spills. Bake 1 hour at 325 degrees. Let stand 10 to 15 minutes before serving. |
