1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda

Cream butter, sugar, and eggs. Sift together flour, salt, and nutmeg. Blend into mixture. Mix together buttermilk and soda. Add to vanilla to dough. Drop by large tablespoonfuls onto lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 12 minutes.
