PICKLED OKRA 
Soak medium sized tender whole (leave top on) okra pods for 24 hours in ice water. Sterilize jars in boiling water, drain. Stuff okra in jars, packing tightly. Add a pod of garlic, pod of red pepper, and a piece of fresh dill weed into each jar. Pour hot solution into each jar. Wipe top of jars and seal while hot.

SOLUTION:

1 qt. vinegar
2 c. water
1 c. pickling salt
Pea size piece of alum

Bring to a boil, stirring well. Boil 10 minutes. Pour into jars.
