BROWNIES - COCOA 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. cocoa
2 more tbsp. butter
3/4 c. flour
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. nuts, walnuts or pecans (optional)

Sift dry ingredients into a large bowl. Cut in the butter. Add eggs and vanilla and blend well. Add nuts. Spread in 8 x 8 inch greased pan. Sprinkle top with sugar. Bake at 350 degrees until top begins to crack. Makes 16 pieces. (It's necessary to sift dry ingredients because cocoa is lumpy sometimes.)
