WHITE SAUCE (BASIC) 
3 tbsp. butter
4 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. sugar
2 c. skim or regular milk

Melt butter in skillet. Add flour and seasonings. When well mixed, gradually add milk. It will thicken as you cook.
