HOMEMADE FIG BARS 
2 (6 oz.) pkgs. dried figs
1/2 c. butter
2 sm. eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 1/2 c. flour

Cream butter and sugars. Add eggs, flour and soda sifted together and vanilla.

FIG FILLING:

Make first and let cool.

Grind figs fine. Add 1 cup water, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1 tbsp. flour. Boil until clear. Cool.

Roll 1/2 of dough and place in 9x13-inch pan. Spread fig filling over dough. Roll remaining dough and place on top of fig filling. Mark size of bars and bake 375°F until lightly browned. When cool cut bars through.

Better than store-bought fig bars!
