CHOCOLATE CHIP COTTAGE PUDDING 
3 tbsp. shortening
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
2 c. sifted cake flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips

Thoroughly cream shortening and sugar. Add well beaten egg. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk. Stir until smooth. Add vanilla and chocolate chips. Pour into greased 8 or 9 inch square pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream. Serves 6.
