CAFE DOUGHNUTS 
1 c. mashed potatoes
1/2 c. sugar
1/3 c. butter
1 1/2 c. scalded milk
2 eggs
1/2 c. water
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. yeast
About 5 c. flour

Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add to milk, potatoes, sugar, eggs, butter and vanilla. Add salt, baking powder and flour. Knead dough, then let rise. Cut doughnuts and raise again. Fry at 350 degrees. Makes about 35. For glaze, mix powdered sugar, hot water, vanilla and a little cornstarch.
