APPLESAUCE FRUIT CAKE 
2 c. applesauce
1/2 lb. butter
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. nutmeg
3 1/2 c. flour (set aside 1/2 c. to coat the fruit)
2 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs
2 c. sugar
1 c. candied cherries
1 c. candied pineapple
1 c. raisins
1 c. chopped nuts

Melt butter. Mix together with applesauce; then add sugar. Add eggs and spices; then add the flour and soda. Coat the fruit, raisins, and nuts with remaining 1/2 cup flour and add to mixture. Bake at 325 degrees for about 1 1/2 hours.
